We are pleased to invite you to our December Luncheon with Dr. Matteo Madi, Managing Director of Sirin Orbital Systems AG, Zürich, who will deliver a speech titled “Bridging Space-tech and Clean-tech”.

Space plays a pivotal role in our daily lives and businesses with applications such as Earth observation, telecommunication, and navigation services. In addition to satellite-based data, space has changed our lives through technology transfers. Digital photography from long-range telescopes led to the miniaturized cameras on today’s smartphones, space blankets used on the exterior surfaces of spacecraft for thermal shielding are now included in emergency kits, sensors initially designed for analyzing the atmosphere of Mars are now used on Earth to measure air quality or to detect gas leakages, highly efficient solar cells developed to supply power for deep space missions have been adapted for terrestrial solar farms, green energy generators developed for International Space Station are used to produce home power units fueled by natural gas producing electricity and domestic hot water and home heating from the excess heat.
In his presentation for the SCCIJ, Dr. Matteo Madi of Sirin Orbital Systems AG, winner of the 2024 ‘Leading Innovation in Space’ Award (see more), will address innovative clean-tech solutions inspired and empowered by space-tech, with a focus on wireless power transfer (WPT) as a resilient energy transfer method, along with technological challenges and commercial opportunities that such technologies are creating for businesses, clean-tech and terrestrial energy sectors.
