This Expo year, we are celebrating Swiss National Day twice! While Switzerland officially marks its national holiday on August 1st, at the Expo, Presence Switzerland (FDFA) is bringing the festivities forward to April 22nd with a one-of-a-kind artistic performance in collaboration with HEAD – Geneva.
Although Switzerland officially celebrates its National Day on August 1st, Presence Switzerland (FDFA) will mark the occasion in advance at Expo 2025 with a special celebration on April 22. This milestone event will feature an exclusive artistic performance in collaboration with HEAD – Geneva (Geneva University of Art and Design).
Switzerland will be officially represented by Federal Councilor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ignazio Cassis, who will travel to Japan to honor this significant occasion and highlight the importance of Switzerland’s presence at Expo 2025.
To commemorate the day, the Swiss Pavilion will present “My Name is Heidi”, an immersive and contemporary performance that merges elements of design and cinema. This innovative interpretation reimagines the beloved character of Heidi, offering a fresh perspective while celebrating the enduring values and cultural identity she represents.
Free admission tickets are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
