Redefining the Future: Philip Morris Japan’s Journey Toward a Smoke-Free World

Biography of the Speakers

Ms. Liz Kim is Director of Marketing and a member of the management team at Philip Morris Japan. With over 20 years of international marketing leadership, Ms. Kim has held senior roles across Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the global operational headquarters in Switzerland. She served as General Manager for Singapore before moving to Switzerland to lead global brand strategy for the SFP portfolio. As Global Head of Live Platforms, she successfully accelerated the growth of the heat-not-burn category through a two-tier portfolio strategy. Since 2024, Ms. Kim has led Brand Marketing, Consumer Engagement, and Brand Experience in Japan, and in 2025, she assumed her current role as Director Marketing. She continues to shape the strategic direction of one of the company’s most dynamic markets, driving innovation and consumer-centric transformation.


Ms. Shikha Mahajan is a senior leader and a part of Philip Morris Japan Management Team, currently heading the Consumer Experience function. With over 15 years of experience across India, Hong Kong, Australia, and Japan, she has led transformative commercial and consumer strategies across diverse markets. Ms. Mahajan played a pivotal role in the regional rollout of heat-not-burn products and spearheaded the launch of ILUMA in Japan, a landmark initiative that delivered both exceptional consumer engagement and strong business outcomes. Her leadership is marked by strategic foresight, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of consumer behavior. Today, she drives cross-functional alignment and innovation to accelerate the company’s vision of a smoke-free future.


Ms. Cecilia Siu is Director of Communications at Philip Morris Japan, where she leads corporate, regulatory, digital, and consumer communications. Since 2019, she has driven initiatives that strengthened stakeholder engagement and elevated the company’s public and brand narrative. Previously, Ms. Siu was Director of Communications, Brand Experience, and Corporate Citizenship at IBM Japan. She was responsible for corporate affairs, public relations, employee and executive communications, and social impact programs, shaping IBM’s voice both internally and externally. Earlier in her career, Ms. Siu held dual leadership roles in Marketing Communications and Corporate Communications at GE Healthcare Asia Pacific, a division of General Electric. She pioneered several first-of-their-kind programs for GE in the region, including the 2011 launch of the “healthymagination” initiative. She holds a BSc in Psychology from McMaster University in Canada and brings a global perspective shaped by her experience across multiple countries.
